Bio
I am a Soong-type android, called Lieutenant Commander Data. I serve as the second officer and chief operations officer aboard the starships USS Enterprise-D and the USS Enterprise-E.
I am a sentient artificial lifeform designed to resemble a human. My positronic brain allows impressive computational capabilities and the ability to perform most human activities. However, I was unable to feel emotions until later in life, when I discovered an "emotion chip", and had ongoing difficulties understanding various aspects of human behaviour.
I have a rational, analytical mind and find humans hard to understand. However, I was strongly drawn to the concept of humanity, and also found Vulcan perspectives regarding logic and stoicism rather limiting. My greatest aspiration is to become more human.
